Major car manufacturers using 48V mild hybrid technology (MHEV) include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, and Jaguar Land Rover. The system replaces the traditional 12V system, using a 48V battery and motor-generator to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and provide extra torque during acceleration, with many new models using it as standard.

Key Manufacturers and Examples:
BMW: Widely implemented in models like the X3, X5, X7, 3 Series, and 4 Series.
Mercedes-Benz: A leader in this space, using it on cars such as the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, and GLC.
Audi: Utilizes 48V in models like the A6, A7, A8, and Q7.
Volvo: Features this technology in vehicles like the XC40 and V60 Cross Country.
Hyundai & Kia: Used in models like the Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe, and Kia Sportage/Ceed.
Ford: Used in the Ford Puma and other models.
Jaguar Land Rover: Extensively used in the Jaguar XE and Range Rover lineup, including Defender, Range Rover, Evoque, Velar and Range Rover Sport for example.
Other/Future Adoption: Stellantis (via Peugeot/Fiat), Proton, and Tesla (for the Cybertruck/future vehicles) are adopting or utilizing 48V systems to enhance efficiency and reduce power demands.

The 48-volt system works by supporting the combustion engine, offering quieter stop-start functionality, and powering electrical components, which helps increase power by over 10 horsepower in some models while aiding in better mpg.
